ICTS Meeting at ETTC’03 (11 June 2003, Toulouse, France)
The ICTS Meeting will be held at ETTC at 14:00 on Wednesday 11 June. The ETSC Meeting is due to be held on Tuesday 10 June, 13:30-15:30.
See A1 (ICTS) and A2 (ETSC) for the respective updated Agendas.
Please note that SFTE European Chapter members are cordially invited to attend the ICTS meeting.
There will be a preparatory ICTS Board onsite at 15:30 on Tuesday, 10 June immediately after the ETSC meeting.

We’ve
received the following encouraging message from Eduardo Bergamini in
Brazil relating to point 2.12 of the preliminary agenda of WRC2007 :
I have just received a
call from my contact with the Brazilian Delegation to ITU. He
-confirmed- to me that a favorable attitude continues to exist from
the part of Brazil concerning Item 7 of the CMR 03 Agenda, toward
confirmation of the Item 2.12 related to the WRC 2007 event. Brazil
will, naturally, be attending the upcoming WRC 2003 event.

I have been informed this morning by Joachim Strick, the Chairman of the national (German) preparation of the WRC’2003, that the provisional agenda point 2.12 of WRC’2007 was discussed at the last meeting, as addressed by the French and German delegations. It received a very positive response. Mr Stick is optimistic about the support of the CEPT at WRC’2003. The final CEPT preparatory meeting is in two weeks’ time.

We have received more positive information (subject to US official approval) from Darrell Ernst, Mitre Corp., USA, regarding point 2.12 of the preliminary WRC’07 agenda to be discussed next June in Geneva.
We
learned a few days ago that the US recommendation will probably be to
limit the proposal to the 3-8 GHz region. This is not yet final. I
believe this is close to the French position. We have good industry
support.
We need to keep in mind that the US
position must go through the formal drafting process. I heard a
rumour that the position might go in as "3-15 GHz" in order
to allow negotiating room, but we in the flight test community have
made clear to the authorities that we would have difficulty operating
much above 5 GHz, and that it is important that we be harmonized with
Europe.
