Welcome to
COGnitive systems with Interactive Sensors 2007

Sensors are now more and more integrated in complex systems and information systems. This trend aims more coherent, efficient, and reactive processes to be developed accross the signal and image processing disciplines. On the one hand, disparate data have to be efficiently managed and fused from the observation to the decision level, taking into account all the application specifications. On the other hand, information needs to be acquired through a dynamic process of resource management, such that the whole system provides the best solution according to the application needs, environment and context. Hence, system design and control pose major challenges in development of autonomous sensor systems and interactions between them, including mechanisms for their individual and collective behavior optimization.

The purpose of the symposium is to build a prospective view of this emergent thematic, considering methodological aspects as well as application potentials.
